How this FLAMES calculation works
Cancel matching letters once from each name, including repeated letters one pair at a time. Add the letters left in both names. Starting at F, count that many positions around F–L–A–M–E–S and remove the letter reached. Resume at the next surviving letter, using the same count each round, until one remains. Spaces, periods, hyphens and apostrophes do not count; Latin accents are folded to base letters.
